A man named Austin Drummond, who was released from jail just a few months ago, is now suspected of killing four people in Tennessee, USA.
Police and federal agents are currently searching for him after the bodies of four people were found in a house. This case has shocked the local community and raised serious questions about his early release.
Who Is Austin Drummond?
Austin Drummond is 28 years old and has a long criminal record. He was in jail for 13 years for robbing a gas station with a gun. He stole only $44 but pointed a gun at a woman during the crime.
While in jail, he was known to cause problems. He had 25 disciplinary actions for things like drug possession, disobeying orders, and even carrying a weapon inside the prison.
Even before he was released, many people warned that he was not ready to live in society. In 2020, District Attorney Jody Pickens wrote a letter saying Drummond was dangerous and should not be let out early. He even shared how Drummond had threatened jurors and the victim from his robbery case.
The Recent Tragedy
On July 29, 2025, police found the bodies of four people: James Matthew Wilson (21), Adrianna Williams (20), Cortney Rose (38), and Braydon Williams (15). These people were reportedly known to Drummond.
The discovery happened after a 7-month-old baby girl, the daughter of two of the victims, was found alone in someone’s front yard. This led police to the crime scene where the four victims were found.
The case has been called “tragic” by investigators, and the entire state is on high alert. Authorities have warned the public not to go near Drummond if they see him and to call the police immediately.
Other Arrests in the Case
So far, two people have been arrested for helping Drummond after the murders. Their names are Tanaka Brown and Giovonte Thomas, both 29 years old. Police haven’t shared how exactly they helped him, but they have been charged as accessories after the fact to first-degree murder.
Behavior Inside Jail
While in prison, Drummond showed no signs of changing. He made threats to jurors over phone calls, saying things like, “They are going to regret it” and “I’ll be out one day.”
His social media pages even showed him eating pizza, drinking alcohol, and playing a Nintendo Switch while inside jail — something that should never happen in prison.
Why Was He Released?
Despite warnings, the parole board considered releasing Drummond early in 2020. Prosecutors strongly opposed this decision, calling him a threat to society and a known member of the Vice Lords gang. They believed he would return to crime, and sadly, that appears to be true.
This case has raised serious concerns about how dangerous prisoners are evaluated for early release. Austin Drummond had a violent history and clear signs that he wasn’t ready to live freely in society. Now, four people are dead, and a community is living in fear. Authorities are working hard to catch him and make sure justice is served.
