About the IBAT Leadership Division
The IBAT Leadership Division, established in 1985, focuses on identifying and nurturing future leaders in Texas community banking. Through educational events, networking opportunities, and leadership training, the division plays a vital role in keeping local banking strong and forward-thinking.
The division is organized into 13 regions, each managed by a regional president who also represents that region on the division’s board. These local leaders help organize events, discussions, and activities that keep community bankers connected throughout the year.
About IBAT
The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) was formed in 1974 and is now the largest state community banking organization in the United States. Headquartered in Austin, IBAT represents more than 4,600 banks and branches across 700 communities in Texas.
IBAT works to support independent and community banks by offering training, advocacy, tools, and statewide networking. It continues to promote the values of local banking—trust, customer focus, and community service.
Celebrating 40 Years of Leadership
The Connecting Leaders Conference is a key annual event for IBAT’s Leadership Division. Held at the scenic Moody Gardens Hotel in Galveston, this year’s edition marked 40 years of empowering future banking leaders.
Attendees enjoyed panel discussions, networking sessions, leadership workshops, and a vibrant celebration of community banking spirit.
The IBAT Leadership Division continues to shape the future of community banking in Texas by promoting strong leadership and professional development. With its newly elected executive committee in place, the division is ready to carry forward its mission.
Events like the Connecting Leaders Conference not only highlight the achievements of community bankers but also offer valuable opportunities to learn, grow, and connect across regions. As Texas banking continues to evolve, IBAT remains a steady force in encouraging leadership that makes a difference.
