In a shocking case out of Kentucky, a 34-year-old mother has been arrested for allegedly using her young children to try and harm their grandmother — her ex-mother-in-law — by exposing her to a food she is severely allergic to.

The plan, which included crushed bell peppers and a hand-written birthday note, was thankfully stopped before anyone was seriously hurt.

Kentucky Woman Accused of Targeting Ex-Mother-in-Law With Allergic Reaction Plot

Tiffany Gregory, 34, was arrested on Tuesday after being accused of involving her 8- and 11-year-old children in a disturbing plot to trigger a severe allergic reaction in their grandmother, who has a known allergy to bell peppers.

According to police reports, the plan involved delivering a birthday gift bag with crushed bell peppers to the grandmother’s home.

Gregory now faces several charges, including first-degree wanton endangerment, second-degree stalking, and unlawful transaction with a minor.

History of Threats and Harassment

Authorities say the grandmother, whose name has not been made public, had been receiving threatening messages from Gregory for several months. She also told police that Gregory had been repeatedly driving past her home and once sent her a secret video of her standing in line at Walgreens.

One of the most alarming events occurred in mid-June, when Gregory allegedly told her children she was dropping off “legal papers” at the grandmother’s house. But instead, she reportedly rubbed a pink substance on the victim’s car door handle.

The grandmother later touched the door, wiped it off, and eventually woke up in the hospital after suffering an allergic reaction.

Birthday Bag With Crushed Bell Peppers

On July 7, Gregory picked up her children, telling them they were going to the zoo. But first, she told them they had to run an “errand.” That errand, according to reports, involved stomping on multiple bell peppers and placing them in a gift bag meant for their grandmother.

The children, knowing their grandmother’s allergy, refused to carry out the plan. Gregory then allegedly got help from a friend, who placed the gift bag — containing the crushed peppers — on the victim’s car along with a birthday card. Luckily, the victim’s husband found the bag and threw it away before she came into contact with it.

Court Proceedings and Charges

Tiffany Gregory was taken into custody and appeared in court the next day, where she pleaded not guilty to all charges. She remains held at the Louisville Metro Detention Center on a $25,000 cash-only bond. Her next court date is scheduled for August 7.

This disturbing case highlights how personal disputes can spiral into dangerous actions, especially when children are pulled into the conflict. Authorities acted quickly, and the grandmother was fortunate to avoid further harm.

As the case moves forward in court, it will serve as a reminder of the legal consequences of involving minors in harmful or illegal acts — especially when it puts lives at risk.
