A 26-year-old woman in Florida, Anaya Durandisse Williams, was arrested after allegedly attacking another woman over a dispute regarding the bed sheets and blankets in her room. The incident led to charges of attempted second-degree murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The Incident

On Sunday, deputies with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an ongoing battery at a home in Fort Meade, located about 60 miles southeast of Tampa.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, who was living with Williams, and learned that Williams had become “extremely upset” over what type of bed sheets and blankets the victim had set up for her in the room.

The situation quickly escalated into a physical altercation. According to the probable cause affidavit, Williams grabbed the victim’s hair and hit her multiple times on the head. Williams then grabbed an empty olive oil glass bottle and struck the victim in the head, causing it to shatter.

Williams allegedly continued to grab and pull the victim’s hair, kicking and biting her in the leg as well. The victim managed to bite Williams’ finger to escape.

The Attack Continues

As the victim tried to call 911 for help, Williams allegedly went into the kitchen, grabbed a large knife, and lunged at the victim, stabbing her in the back/side area. Surveillance footage from the home reportedly captured the moment Williams attacked the victim with the knife while she was on the phone with emergency services.

Arrest and Confession

When police arrived, they found Williams in the bathroom with the knife and took her into custody. During an interview, Williams reportedly admitted to attacking the victim, saying she was “in the heat of the moment” during the incident.

She also acknowledged hitting the victim with the bottle, biting her leg, and using the knife to stab the victim as she was turning away.

The victim sustained visible injuries, including a swollen left eye and a small laceration to her back/side area. The victim told deputies that she was “scared” when Williams grabbed the knife and described the attack as happening “against her will.”

Legal Proceedings

Williams has been charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. She is scheduled for a pretrial detention hearing on August 4, with her arraignment set for September 2, 2025.

This violent incident highlights the dangers of seemingly minor disputes escalating into physical confrontations. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter, and Williams faces serious charges that will be addressed in court in the coming months.
