Micah Hill, a 21-year-old man from Oklahoma, has been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly shooting the husband of a woman he has been dating.
Hill admitted to firing two shots at the victim during a confrontation in the parking lot of a plasma donation center in Edmond last Tuesday. Hill stated that he felt unable to “outfight” the man, which led him to pull out a gun and shoot.
Details of the Incident
The confrontation occurred outside Biomat USA Plasma Center, where Hill was waiting inside a car with his girlfriend while she was inside the center. According to Hill’s statement to police, the husband had previously spit in his face and threatened him.
Hill claimed that the husband was hostile and approached him aggressively while he was sitting in the car, causing Hill to feel threatened.
Hill admitted to investigators that he felt scared and decided to exit the vehicle with a pistol. He said the shots were fired after the husband began “lunging” at him, prompting Hill to act in self-defense. Hill allegedly shot the victim twice during the confrontation.
Aftermath and 911 Call
A 911 caller inside the plasma center reported that the victim had stumbled inside, yelling for help and stating that he had been shot. The caller described the victim as being in obvious distress, saying he had been shot in the back.
Another witness, Jacob McDonald, explained that the victim collapsed and “doubled over” before the shooter came into the center and explained the situation.
Hill has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and has reportedly claimed that he was acting in self-defense during the incident.
This shooting incident highlights a tense confrontation that escalated quickly outside a public location. While Hill claims self-defense, the authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and Hill faces serious legal consequences.
The situation underscores the potential for violent outcomes in confrontations fueled by past grievances and escalating tensions.
