In a shocking case of mistaken identity and deadly intent, two men from Pennsylvania have been found guilty of killing a young man and badly injuring his mother during a failed robbery attempt. The two had entered the wrong house, looking for guns to steal.

What Happened

Charles Fulforth, 41, and Kelvin Roberts Jr., 42, were convicted of first-degree murder and several other serious charges for the killing of 25-year-old Andrew Gaudio.

The tragic incident happened during a home invasion in December 2024. The two men were also found guilty of shooting and paralyzing Andrew’s mother, Bernadette Gaudio, who was 61 years old at the time.

The jury reached its decision after about four hours of deliberation, finding both men guilty on seven felony charges, including attempted murder and robbery. However, they were not found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.

The Terrible Mistake

Fulforth and Roberts worked together at a company called Junkluggers. They were also allegedly involved in gun trafficking. According to officials, they were tipped off about a house that had a safe full of guns. But there was a major error — the house they broke into was in a completely different county.

On the night of December 8, 2024, instead of reaching the correct home in Bucks County, they entered the Gaudio family’s home in Montgomery County. Tragically, this mistake led to an innocent man’s death and life-changing injuries for his mother.

How the Crime Unfolded

Bernadette Gaudio testified in court about the horrifying events of that night. She recalled hearing her son call her name. Andrew then came into her bedroom, where one of the intruders shot him in the back of the head. Bernadette said she “knew right away” her son was dead.

She herself was shot multiple times by Roberts while lying in bed, leaving her paralyzed for life.

District Attorney Kevin Steele described the killing as an “execution,” explaining that Andrew was shot in the back of the head while he was lying face down on the bedroom floor.

Who Gave Them the Wrong Information?

Reports show that a man named Jeremy Fuentes had tipped off the intruders. Fuentes and another employee of Junkluggers had previously visited a home in Bucks County, where they noticed a gun safe. Fuentes allegedly told Roberts and Fulforth about this, which led them to plan a robbery.

Unfortunately, instead of reaching the correct house, they ended up at the Gaudio family’s home — a tragic mistake with deadly consequences. Fuentes is expected to face a separate trial.

What Happens Next

Both Fulforth and Roberts have been found guilty of first-degree murder, attempted murder, robbery, and related crimes. The court will decide their sentences at a later date. However, since first-degree murder usually carries a life sentence in Pennsylvania, they are expected to remain behind bars for the rest of their lives.

This heartbreaking case is a strong reminder of how dangerous and life-changing crimes like home invasions can be — especially when carried out with violence and based on wrong information.

Two innocent lives were destroyed, and two more are now facing life in prison for a crime they thought would lead to stolen guns but instead ended in tragedy.
