Two men from North Texas, Ubaldo Maquitico (18) and Adrian Urquiza (20), are currently in jail after being accused of robbing three Dallas convenience stores at gunpoint in a span of just 41 minutes.
The Dallas Police Department stated that the duo held up the stores between 4:14 a.m. and 4:55 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, demanding cash at gunpoint.
The Robberies
Maquitico and Urquiza allegedly carried out the robberies with handguns, terrorizing store workers and customers. The crimes took place in quick succession, with each robbery occurring within a short time frame in the early hours of the morning.
The Quick Arrest
Around seven minutes after the third robbery, law enforcement officers were able to spot the suspects’ vehicle near the intersection of St. Augustine and Lake June Road. After calling for backup, the police conducted a felony traffic stop. Both suspects surrendered without putting up any resistance.
Deputy Chief Patricia Mora expressed satisfaction with the swift response, stating that the police’s quick action and good tactics had prevented any potential harm to innocent people.
The Bond and Jail Details
As per the jail records, Urquiza’s bond has been set at $100,000, while Maquitico’s bond is set at $50,000. Both remain in jail as investigations continue. The police have committed to providing more information as it becomes available.
