A 32-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the February shooting of 29-year-old Terrica Tabor, who was killed while sitting in a car in a motel parking lot in Memphis. The incident has left Tabor’s three young children without their mother, and authorities are still investigating the motive behind the deadly attack.
The Deadly Incident
The shooting occurred around 9:45 p.m. on February 22 at the Star Lite Inn in Memphis, Tennessee. Terrica Tabor was sitting in a 2007 Ford Edge parked in the motel lot, accompanied by her boyfriend and sister.
According to the sister’s statement, the three of them noticed a woman in a black-hooded coat watching them from a nearby stairway. The woman then walked down the stairs, approached the passenger side where Tabor was sitting, and opened fire, shooting three times into the car.
Before fleeing the scene, the shooter allegedly shouted, “I told you, b—! I told you!” The victim’s sister later identified the suspect from a photo lineup, leading investigators to arrest Jenae Bradley, 32, as the shooter.
Arrest and Investigation
Bradley was arrested on Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Tabor’s death. Police had obtained surveillance footage from the motel that helped them identify Bradley as the shooter. Despite having the arrest warrant soon after the crime, Bradley was able to avoid capture for nearly five months.
She was eventually taken into custody at the Shelby County Jail, where she is being held on a $90,000 bond. Bradley is scheduled to appear in court for a bond reduction hearing on Friday.
While the affidavit does not specify a motive for the shooting, the case has left the community searching for answers as to why a mother of three had to lose her life in such a violent way.
The Tragic Aftermath
Tabor leaves behind three children, including a 10-year-old who is old enough to understand the tragedy of her mother’s death.
Tabor’s aunt spoke out, calling her a “good mom” and expressing deep sorrow for the children who are now forced to grow up without their mother. “No one deserves to lose their parents in such a tragedy,” she said.
The aunt shared how especially difficult it has been for Tabor’s eldest child, who is old enough to comprehend that her mother was murdered. “It was the sharpest pain in my heart because I thought, what about the children?” she said, expressing the heartbreak the family now faces.
