A peaceful neighborhood in Thousand Oaks was rocked by a tragic crime earlier this month. On the evening of July 10, a stabbing left one man dead, and authorities are actively searching for the suspect.
Incident Details
At around 8:23 p.m. on July 10, deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 2900 block of Crescent Way. Several 911 calls alerted them to the stabbing, and upon arriving at the scene, deputies found a man with obvious stab wounds.
The victim was immediately taken to Los Robles Hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he was declared dead shortly after arrival.
Suspect Identified
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office quickly identified the suspect as 36-year-old Miguel Angel Reyes Cano from Simi Valley. Authorities have reported that Cano fled the scene in a blue 2002 Dodge truck, with the California license plate number 7K43579. Despite ongoing efforts, Cano remains at large.

The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau has taken charge of the case, treating it as an active homicide investigation. Multiple teams, including the Thousand Oaks Patrol Services, Detectives Bureau, Crime Scene Investigations Unit, East County Special Enforcement Unit, and the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office, are collaborating to track down the suspect and gather more information.
