A man in Minnesota is facing second-degree murder charges after allegedly killing his girlfriend’s friend’s boyfriend during an argument. The tragic incident occurred on July 6, when 21-year-old Daniel Isaac Aguilar was found dead on a sidewalk in Apple Valley, Minnesota.

The circumstances surrounding his death involve a heated argument, a stabbing, and a series of events that led to his tragic demise.

The Incident

On the early morning of July 6, around 3:12 a.m., the Apple Valley Police responded to a report about a “non-responsive male lying on a sidewalk.” When officers arrived, they discovered the body of Daniel Isaac Aguilar.

His body had a large amount of blood around it, and there was a puncture wound on the left side of his chest. Despite still being warm, Aguilar was pronounced dead at the scene.

Upon investigation, officers discovered a blood trail leading to where Aguilar’s body was found. Nearby, there were personal items, broken glass, and cans of alcohol, which seemed to indicate a violent altercation had occurred.

Police also located surveillance footage showing Aguilar walking minutes before officers arrived. The footage revealed that a confrontation between Aguilar and another man, later identified as 20-year-old Aron Isait Medina Rojas, took place just before Aguilar collapsed.

The Argument and Altercation

According to police, surveillance footage captured voices, which appeared to be an argument between two men and a woman. Rojas, allegedly seen in the video, approached Aguilar and struck him in the chest.

As Aguilar backed away, he reportedly said, “I’m f–ing walking home bro,” urging the confrontation to end. However, Rojas allegedly punched Aguilar near the throat, causing the victim to collapse to the ground.

The incident was witnessed by a woman, believed to be Rojas’ girlfriend, who is seen on the video pointing an illuminated phone toward the victim. After the altercation, the pair walked out of camera range, leaving the scene as headlights turned around.

Background of the Argument

Aguilar’s girlfriend told investigators that the couple had been arguing at a club in Minneapolis earlier that night. Meanwhile, Aguilar’s girlfriend had received calls from her friend, who was concerned about Aguilar allegedly cheating on her. During this time, Aguilar’s girlfriend reportedly told her friend that she “hated” Aguilar.

The situation escalated when Aguilar and his girlfriend left the club and drove to a parking lot in Apple Valley. While there, Rojas and his girlfriend arrived, offering to take Aguilar’s girlfriend to a friend’s house. As the couple drove away, they noticed Aguilar walking alone, which led to the confrontation that would later result in his death.

Rojas’ Involvement

Rojas’ girlfriend later told authorities that after dropping off Aguilar’s girlfriend, she and Rojas saw Aguilar walking and decided to stop. She said she got out of the car to confront him, but Aguilar became aggressive.

This led to Rojas joining the altercation. According to her, Rojas returned to the car with blood on his shirt, stating that they needed to leave immediately.

Cause of Death and Investigation

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Aguilar’s death was caused by “multiple sharp force injuries” and ruled it a homicide. Following the investigation, Rojas was charged with second-degree murder for his role in the killing of Aguilar.

This case highlights the tragic consequences of unresolved arguments and the escalation of violence. Aron Isait Medina Rojas now faces charges for the death of Daniel Isaac Aguilar, a young man whose life was cut short after an argument turned deadly.

The investigation into this tragic event continues to unfold, and the community is left grappling with the impact of such a senseless act of violence.
