Despite being on tour, Shakira is taking time to show support for Texas, which is grappling with a deadly wave of flash floods. The Colombian pop sensation, currently on her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, announced on July 5 that she would donate a portion of her San Antonio concert proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, a humanitarian group helping those affected by the floods.

Shakira’s Heartfelt Donation to Help Texas Families

In her heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter), Shakira expressed her sympathy for the people suffering from the devastating floods in central Texas. She wrote, “Dear San Antonio, our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in central Texas.

We are donating a portion of tonight’s show proceeds to Catholic Charities of San Antonio, who are providing disaster relief to the families impacted.” Shakira also encouraged her fans to contribute to the relief efforts, saying, “Your help is important and appreciated.”

Flash Floods Devastate Central Texas

The flash floods in Texas began after heavy rainfall on July 3 and 4. These storms caused historic flooding, leaving at least 81 people dead and more than 40 people still missing, as confirmed by Texas Gov.

Greg Abbott. The worst-hit area is Kerr County, where authorities have recovered the bodies of 40 adults and 28 children. The flooding has also displaced countless families, with more rainfall expected to worsen conditions in the coming days.

Miranda Lambert Launches Fundraiser for Animals

In addition to Shakira’s support, country singer Miranda Lambert, who hails from Longview, Texas, is also stepping in to help. Lambert’s nonprofit organization, MuttNation, is raising funds to assist pet owners who have been displaced by the floods.

In a heartfelt video posted on Instagram on July 5, the 41-year-old singer said, “I can’t even come up with any words for the loss that everybody’s suffering.” Her organization aims to provide resources to help keep pets safe during the disaster.

Maren Morris Reflects on the Devastation

Maren Morris, another Texas native, expressed her grief over the floods in a heartfelt Instagram post. “The floods are devastating, and people are still missing,” wrote Morris, 35, alongside a photo of her as a child.

Morris encouraged her followers to donate to the Texas Hill Country Community Foundation, which is helping local efforts with the support of nonprofits, first responders, and shelters. “I’ll be donating to an incredibly impactful fund called the Texas Hill Country Community Foundation,” she added.

Stars Unite for Texas in Times of Crisis

The outpouring of support from Shakira, Miranda Lambert, and Maren Morris highlights the power of community and the deep bonds they share with their home state of Texas.

As the flood recovery continues, these stars are using their platforms to help those affected by the disaster, offering financial aid and encouraging others to get involved.
