Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients can expect their regular monthly payment for July 2025 to be deposited without any changes to the usual schedule. The Social Security Administration (SSA) follows a standard procedure for issuing SSI payments, with the deposit typically made on the first day of each month.

However, if the first falls on a weekend or holiday, payments are adjusted to ensure timely deposits. Here’s evrything you need to know about SSI payment dates for July 2025 and beyond.

When Are SSI Payments Sent in July 2025?

For July 2025, the SSI payment will be made on Tuesday, July 1. This follows the usual SSA schedule, as there is no conflict with weekends or holidays. Payments are typically issued on the first of the month, and when that date falls on a weekend or holiday, they are moved to the last business day before the weekend or holiday.

In May 2025, SSI recipients received two checks – one for May, issued on May 1, and the other for June, which was brought forward to May 30 due to the weekend conflict with June 1. However, July and August payments will follow a more regular schedule. August’s payment will be issued on Friday, August 1, 2025.

Monday, December 1, 2025 (Payment for December 2025)

Wednesday, December 31, 2025 (Payment for January 2026)

In some months, SSI recipients will receive two payments – for example, in August, October, and December – as the first of the month falls on a weekend or holiday.

Advance Payments for Other Beneficiaries

In addition to SSI recipients, SSDI beneficiaries and retirees who filed before May 1997 will also receive their payments in advance. These payments will be available on Thursday, July 3, 2025, ahead of the July 4th holiday.

This also applies to individuals who receive both SSI and SSDI benefits. These payments will be deposited on the same date as for those receiving solely SSDI or retirement benefits before May 1997.

Average Social Security Payment Amounts

As of May 2025, the average monthly retirement benefit for a worker who retired reached $2,002.39, which is the first time the amount surpassed the $2,000 mark. For SSI beneficiaries, the average monthly payment was $718.30, and about 7.4 million people receive SSI benefits.

The amount of benefits can vary based on a person’s work history and earnings. The SSA calculates the benefit amount based on a worker’s 35 years of highest earnings, which is adjusted for inflation.

As wages tend to increase over time, new retirees usually receive higher benefits than older generations, pushing the overall average higher.

For SSI recipients, the July 1, 2025 payment will be made as scheduled without any delays or changes. For those who receive a combination of SSDI and SSI benefits, payments will be advanced to Thursday, July 3 due to the upcoming July 4th holiday.

Additionally, the SSA’s payment calendar for 2025 includes two payments for certain months, such as August, October, and December. It’s always important to check the SSA’s schedule to ensure you don’t miss any important dates.
