A 32-year-old man from Washington state, who once bragged on social media about his illegal lifestyle, has been sentenced to 35 years in prison. Cedric Dorsey II was found guilty of serious crimes including sex trafficking, promoting prostitution, and illegally owning guns.
How the Case Began
Everything started on April 8, 2024, when police in Bellevue, near Seattle, responded to a domestic violence call. A woman had managed to escape from an apartment in the Factoria neighborhood with help from nearby construction workers. She later told officers that she was being forced into sex work by Dorsey.
Police noticed signs of human trafficking and started a full investigation. The victim shared shocking details about how she was trafficked in different places, including Las Vegas. She explained that Dorsey controlled every part of her life, from booking hotel rooms to managing online ads to find clients.
The Arrest and Social Media Clues
Dorsey was active on social media, using the name “CCC Cash Chasen Ced.” He often posted about his “pimp” lifestyle, even posing with weapons and money. In one post, he proudly said, “I’m so pimpish.” These posts were later used by police to help build their case against him.
Due to Dorsey’s criminal history, including past convictions, the police used a SWAT team to arrest him on May 2, 2024. He initially refused to come out of his apartment, but after officers involved his mother, he finally surrendered.
Victim’s Painful Experience
The victim revealed heartbreaking details. She said Dorsey beat her often and even stomped on her face, which once put her in the hospital. He also made her get deposits from clients to check if they were undercover police. She was forced to give him most of the money she earned through sex work.
During a search of his home, police found $12,000 in cash and three guns, even though Dorsey wasn’t allowed to have weapons due to his past crimes.
Police Speak Out on the Case
Authorities praised the work done by their Human Trafficking Unit and the officers who first responded. Bellevue Assistant Police Chief Andrew Popochock said the case was a great example of how strong teamwork can bring justice. “Sex trafficking is a crime,” he stated clearly, adding that the police worked hard to make sure Dorsey was held responsible.
This case is a clear warning that law enforcement is paying attention to online behavior and will act when crimes are advertised publicly. Cedric Dorsey’s actions not only caused deep harm to the victim but also showed how criminals try to use power and fear to control others.
Thanks to brave victims and determined police officers, justice was served, and one more trafficker is now behind bars for decades.
