Sheldon Biddle, a 25-year-old man from Florida, has been arrested after allegedly making violent threats against several prominent public figures, including President Donald Trump, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino. The threats were made on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), leading to charges of making written threats to kill or harm, as well as being a fugitive from justice. The arrest follows an investigation that linked Biddle to a series of alarming posts expressing anger toward public figures and the government.
Violent and Threatening Posts
Biddle’s posts, which included disturbing and violent language, drew immediate attention from authorities. One of his posts targeted President Trump with the chilling remark, “shut up before you end up like Kennedy,” a reference to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In another post, Biddle expressed his frustration in a violent manner, writing, “Do I have to (expletive) kill someone to get attention? Hellooooooooo?” He also expressed his anger towards the government, stating, “I’m so god damn sick of my government betraying me. I’d rather die fighting for what I believe in, all of you fake Patriots make me sick.”
These violent messages and radical threats led authorities to investigate further. Eventually, Biddle was found to have an active federal warrant for his arrest, which led to his capture on Thursday in a park on North Nova Road in Ormond Beach, Florida.
A Pattern of Extremist Views
Biddle’s social media history revealed a disturbing trend of antisemitic, racist, and anti-LGBTQ statements. Police noted that Biddle frequently made these extreme comments under the guise of protecting the U.S. Constitution. In addition to his threats against government officials, Biddle also expressed hostility toward law enforcement, and even made violent threats against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He further disparaged individuals like Ted Nugent and the NRA, calling Nugent a “boot licking traitor to American” and criticizing the NRA for not aligning with what he considered the majority views of Americans.
The U.S. Secret Service became involved after being alerted to Biddle’s online threats and began its own investigation into the dangerous comments targeting President Trump.
Legal Charges and Detainment
Due to the nature of his threats, Biddle now faces federal charges, including making threats against the president. The indictment states that Biddle made a series of online posts with the intent to communicate a true threat of violence against the president, showing recklessness in whether others would perceive his messages as such. Biddle is currently being held without bond in the Volusia County Jail, and authorities have made it clear that they will not tolerate violent threats of any kind, ensuring that those who make such threats will face legal consequences.
The Consequences of Violent Threats
The arrest of Sheldon Biddle serves as a clear reminder of the severe consequences that come with making threats of violence, especially against public figures. His case highlights the need for swift action by authorities to address threats made online to ensure the safety of the public and protect individuals in positions of power. Biddle now faces serious federal charges and will have to deal with the consequences of his dangerous actions.
