A man from Harris County, Texas, Jyron Lee, will spend decades behind bars after pleading guilty to the murder of his wife, Nancy Reed, and their 2-year-old daughter, Nadia Lee, in 2022. The Tragic Death of Nancy Reed
The case began on October 18, 2022, when Nancy Reed was strangled to death by her husband, Jyron Lee, at the Sonesta Extended Stay Suites on Bay Area Boulevard in southeast Houston. Police were called to the motel twice that day due to a fight between the couple over custody of their children. The first time, officers found no evidence of violence and left. However, a few hours later, officers were called again and found Reed unconscious from being choked. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
Lee claimed that he was trying to protect their child, saying he believed Reed was choking one of their children, which led him to put her in a chokehold. However, Reed’s family said she had been staying at the motel to escape the abusive relationship.
The Search for Nadia Lee
The search for 2-year-old Nadia Lee began after her mother’s death. Investigators quickly realized that Nadia had gone missing, and she was last seen at Jyron Lee’s apartment complex in Pasadena on October 16, 2022. This raised suspicions that foul play was involved in the toddler’s disappearance.

On March 20, 2023, a body was discovered in Vince Bayou, located in Pasadena, and on March 26, 2023, it was confirmed that the body was that of 2-year-old Nadia Lee.

After a lengthy investigation, Jyron Lee was charged with capital murder in the death of his daughter. On June 2, 2025, Lee accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to 56 years in prison.
