Gov. Throckmorton awaits vote in McKinney TX

Doctor James W. Throckmorton will find out if he is moving out of historic downtown McKinney in November.

A vote is expected in next 30 days but won’t be before the Nov. 3 general election.

In the meantime, Throckmorton remains camped out at the old courthouse on the square.

Historic note: Throckmorton entered the State Senate as a Democrat, and he opposed Texas leaving the Union.

Citizens of McKinney erected a statue to honor Throckmorton. The inscription says “A Tennesseean by Birth, a Texan by Adoption.”

Stay tuned.
