MLK events in Plano start Jan. 18

How to honor the life and legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. at Plano community events:
Saturday, Jan. 18, 8-10 a.m.
Collin College’s Plano Campus (Spring Creek) Living Legends Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy.
This year’s theme for the breakfast is “2020: Hindsight, Insight, Foresight.” The breakfast features presentations and student performances sharing Dr. King’s message with a special address by Dr. Clay Brantley. Afterward, visit the business and information expo in the atrium where you can connect with local vendors and nonprofit organizations.
Both are free and open to the public.
Sunday, Jan. 19, 6-8 p.m.
The Heights Church, 201 W. Renner Rd., Richardson
Worship, pray and re-envision Dr. King’s dream of racial unity. Free childcare is provided through Kindergarten
Tickets: $5 in advance or $8 at the door
Thursday, Jan. 23, 6:30-8:15 p.m.
Williams High School auditorium, 1717 17th St.
This annual celebration showcases student talent and diversity leadership in our schools and community. Awards are presented to student winners of the Plano ISD 2019-20 MLK Art Contest and to winners of the 19th Annual Diversity Leadership Awards. Winning artwork is on display at the Cox Building until Feb. 18.
