Texas High School football defenses are looking for ways to stop these scoring leaders, listed with points scored in most recent game:
Jesuit’s E.J. Smith scored 24. He is son of former Dallas Cowboys 5-9 running back Emmitt Smith.
The Colony’s Kamden Wesley scored 24 points, too, as his team remained unbeaten.
J.J. Henry scored 20 for McKinney North. Several players scored three touchdowns in last game. Plano had two players score 18 points each: Tylan Hines and Nolan Williams. McKinney’s O.J. Reed scored 18.
Logan Point scored 18 for Celina. Princeton’s Jalaydon Hill contributed 18 points.
Frisco Lone Star’s Jaden Nixon scored 18.
Can anyone keep these players from crossing the goal line? Stay tuned.
Sports trivia: Emmitt Smith averaged 4.2 yards per carry, scored 164 touchdowns and rushed for 18,355 yards during his Hall of Fame career. Did you know the former Florida Gators running back threw one pass during his 15-season NFL career, and this play was during his second season after Dallas with Arizona. The pass went for 21 yards and a touchdown. For fun, you get to look up the name of the Arizona receiver who caught that pass.
