By Brian Bearden

Plano Police are alerting public that a man posing as a maintenance worker is targeting the elderly, which could be about five percent of the population that’s growing toward 300,000.

Police say he has been showing up as a maintenance worker, pest control guy and water department worker.

Plano Police, along with other local agencies, are investigating a series of thefts where the suspect is targeting elderly citizens. In each of the reported incidents, the subject identifies himself as a maintenance worker, pest control sprayer, or water department official and then commits thefts while the victim is not looking. If you have information as to the identify and/or location of this subject, you are asked to call the Crimes Against Persons Tip Line at 972-941-2148.

Police say: Never allow unscheduled workers inside your homes and always verify their identity before allowing anyone inside.
