Texas Governor appoints Chris Hill as a trustee on retirement system board

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Collin County Judge Chris Hill to the Texas County and District Retirement System Board of Trustees for a term that will expire on Dec. 31, 2021.

The TCDRS Board oversees the retirement system for employees and retirees of more than 780 counties and districts, including hospital water districts, water districts, emergency services districts and others.

Chris Hill was first elected as the County Judge of Collin County in 2018, having previously served as a county commissioner since 2013. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).

Hill is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Institute of Internal Auditors. He serves on the board of directors for Minuteman Disaster Response, and has previously served on the board of The Samaritan Inn and Hope Women’s Center.

Gov. Abbott also appointed Judge Hill to the Texas Indigent Defense Commission (TIDC) earlier this year.

Hill, who never seems rushed, has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Texas A&M University-Commerce, a Master of Science degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas, a MBA from Webster University, and a Master of Pastoral Leadership degree from Columbia Biblical Seminary.
