Lubbock TV station reporting Marcus Shavers will leave Estacado to take football coaching job in McKinney TX #txhsfb

Lubbock Matadors Coach Marcus Shavers (Pictured) is going to become head football coach at McKinney High, according to Lubbock KCBD-TV sports broadcaster Pete Christy.

Shavers has been coach at 4A Estacado for two seasons. the Matadors were 10-2 in 2017 under Coach Shavers, who is also an Arkansas Razorback.

Road trip: Allen boys play in Regional Quarterfinals in Italy, Texas, on Tuesday

Regional quarterfinal Basketball playoffs: The Allen Eagles take on Killeen Ellison in the playoffs in the Italy High School gym down I-35 at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Allen beat Duncanville, 56-53, to advance.

Heavy traffic expected: The drive through Dallas traffic could take 90 minutes or longer in rush-hour traffic, especially with rain in the weather forecast. Allow at least two hours or more to get there from Allen for the tipoff.
