Senator Ted Cruz said Democrats are so angry that they would crawl over broken glass to vote in the general election and Republicans better prepare to get out their vote.

Plano voters from age 6 to 80 turned out on Saturday afternoon when the Texas Senator stopped by Plano. The highlight of the gathering was a hard-hitting question by a 12-year-old Plano resident who wanted to know what could be done to keep the growing national debt from impacting his and future generations.

Cruz said Republicans have to fight four battles to win in November.

* Tax reform so Americans can keep more of their own money

* Reform regulations to get the burden off people who create jobs

* Health insurance reform to eliminate the fine on those who can’t afford the high premiums

* Judicial reform to confirm more judges and support local law enforcement

Cruz also spoke on how more needs to be done to help families pay for college.

And, Cruz shared a high-five with the 12-year-old who asked him about the debt.

The audience included a big turnout of under 40 voters and many first generation immigrants.

“We need to be a nation that celebrates legal immigration,” Ted Cruz, who said he is pushing for more skills-based system of immigration.

“When you come here, you come here to be an American,” Cruz said, saying America is a melting pot and groups should not be pitted against each other.

Afterward, the Senator spent time individually greeting an energized group of Plano residents and elected officials.

On gun control: “We must protect the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans” and said the Cruz-Grassley bill would have kept a recent shooter from buying a gun.
