Frosty 5K info for drivers Dec. 12

The streets surrounding Frisco Square and the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center will be closed Saturday morning, Dec. 12, between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. for the Frosty 5K race.

Main Street will be closed between World Cup Way and John W. Elliot Drive; Frisco Street will be closed south of Technology Drive; and most of the streets in Frisco Square between Main Street and Burnham Street will be closed (many of which will start closing at 6 a.m.).

Through traffic on Main Street will be detoured around the event by using World Cup Way, Technology Drive, and John W. Elliott Drive.

The Frisco Public Library opens at 10 a.m., at which time the roads will be open.

Before 10 a.m., the parking garage behind the building can only be accessed from northbound Dallas Parkway by turning onto Page Street or from eastbound Main Street by turning south onto World Cup Way.  Park in the parking garage in order to drop off any library books prior to 10 a.m.

Residents of Coleman Boulevard who park on the west side should use World Cup Way to enter and exit those parking areas during the event.

Residents who park on the east side will be able to exit from the East Frisco Square Parking Lot during the event, but they will not be able to enter it.  Residents, employees and customers of Coleman Boulevard who arrive before 10 a.m. can use World Cup Way to access the parking on the west side of Coleman Boulevard, or they can park in the parking garage behind the library.

Senior Center and Heritage Center traffic should use Cotton Gin Road or John W. Elliott Drive to access those facilities.

Event participants will park at Toyota Stadium or the free parking garage behind the library.  During the street closures, Toyota Stadium can be accessed on its west side via World Cup Way.

Two drop off locations have been established so that motorists can drop off passengers closer to the event.

The west drop off point can be accessed from northbound Dallas Parkway by turning onto Page Street or from eastbound Main Street by turning south onto World Cup Way.  The east drop off point can be accessed from westbound Main Street by turning left onto Frisco Square Boulevard.

During the event, spectators are reminded to stay on the sidewalks in Frisco Square as all of the roads are part of the 5K course.
