Rep. Leach appoints McClure chief of staff

State Representative-Elect Jeff Leach announced that Mary McClure, longtime Collin County resident and political leader, will serve as Chief of Staff, overseeing his state operation in House District 67, consisting of portions of Plano, Allen, Richardson and Dallas in Collin County.
“It is a tremendous honor and privilege to be elected to serve Collin County in the Texas House of Representatives. As we prepare for the 83rd Legislative Session, a key priority for me is to assemble a top-notch staff. In that regard, I am excited to have Mary McClure as a key member of our team as we work together to make Texas and Collin County an even better place to work, live, and raise a family,” said Leach. “Mary’s passion for public service and professional background will serve as a great asset to our office and to my constituents.”

As Chief of Staff, McClure will manage all district operations with a primary focus on constituent services, while meeting with citizens and local leaders on legislative matters and playing a key role in Austin during the legislative session.

Formerly Mary Barry, McClure was raised in McKinney where she attended McKinney High School and graduated from Baylor University with a BBA in Accounting. Since 2006, McClure has served as Campaign Manager for Collin County’s highly respected United States Congressman Sam Johnson, running his political operation in Texas. Prior to her work for Congressman Johnson, McClure worked as an Accountant for Merit Energy in Dallas, where she managed revenue and production accounting for various oil and gas properties.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve Texans on behalf of Representative-Elect Leach, someone I respect and admire, and I look forward to working alongside him as an advocate for the citizens of House District 67,”said McClure. “My primary focus is to provide exceptional constituent services, and I look forward to working on behalf of Representative-Elect Leach to promote fiscal responsibility and conservative values.”

Elected on November 6, 2012, Jeff Leach was raised in Plano and graduated from Plano Senior High. He is a graduate of SMU’s Dedman School of Law and currently practices with the prominent Texas law firm, Looper, Reed & McGraw, P.C. Leach received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University. Jeff and his wife Becky are active members of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano. They live in Plano with their two children, Brady, age 4, and Charlotte, age 2.

McKinney Share the Shade for Arbor Day

The City of McKinney marks its annual Arbor Day celebration with the Share the Shade event on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Senior Recreation Center, 1400 S. College Street. 

Join us in planting trees at the Senior Recreation Center. Residents can share the shade by receiving one of 100 free trees given away on a first-come, first-served basis at the event. Trees are limited to one per household.

A valid driver’s license or identification with a McKinney address is required. T-shirts will also be given away at the event.
