Ragan finalist for job in Pueblo, Colo.

TownSquareBuzz in McKinney reports that Frank Ragan, formerly city manager in McKinney, is one of three finalists expected to interview in mid-November for the city manager position in Pueblo, Colo., according to a report in the Pueblo Chieftain.
Ragan was McKinney’s city manager from March 2008 through June 2010. An archived story of his resignation can be found by clicking here.

The Pubelo Chieftain story mentions that Ragan spent five years as deputy city manager of community services in Aurora, Colo. (prior to coming to McKinney) and he was also deputy manager of operations and director of parks and recreation in that Denver suburb. He also had experience in city government in Indiana.

Raytheon wins thermal weapon sight contract

Raytheon has won a new contract to supply the U.S. army with thermal weapon sights in a deal potentially worth $131 million, company officials stated this week.

This contract is a modification of an existing agreement. Under the new contract, Raytheon could potentially supply more than 24,000 sights.

The thermal weapon sights will be built in McKinney, the headquarters of Raytheon’s network centric systems (NCS) business, the statement said. The thermal sights allow a soldier to spot targets at long distances through haze, dust, and fog.
