Two suspects have been arrested in the murder of 30-year-old Andre Lang Currier of Frisco, who was found dead Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at Wal-Mart, 8555 Preston Road.
The two suspects, identified as 17-year-old Daniel James Ramsour and 20-year-old Raymond Anthony Washington, both of McKinney, were arrested early this morning in Beaumont, Texas, by the Beaumont Police Department.
Frisco Police Department detectives and Texas Rangers have been tirelessly investigating the shooting since Wednesday night and have conducted a multitude of interviews in order to bring this case to a swift conclusion.
“I’m proud of how hard everyone’s been working as a team to solve this crime,” said Chief Todd Renshaw, “and hope that this will put people at ease who live near where the shooting occurred.”
It is believed that Currier was acquainted with Ramsour and Washington, and may have been involved in a drug transaction at the time of the shooting. Detectives believe that the shooting occurred in the parking lot of Wal-Mart and that both suspects fled in a vehicle from the scene prior to officers’ arrival.
The individual reported to have been in the black Mercedes with the victim and later to have fled on foot from the scene was a friend of Currier’s who was with him at the time of the shooting. His identity will not be released.
Public Information Officers will be available from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at the Frisco Police Department to conduct interviews. No additional information will be available after the interviews until Monday morning.
Ramsour and Washington are being charged with Murder, a First Degree Felony punishable by five to 99 years in prison. For more information on this case, refer to Frisco Police Department CFS# 11-046293.
